Our family has been telling stories through the lens for over 40 years. Originally Unique Images Inc. was founded by John Mulliken in the early 1980s, the business has now been rebranded and is now led by his son, J.D. Mulliken, a second-generation photographer with a passion for capturing authentic moments and timeless memories.

From a young age, J.D. was immersed in photography—learning lighting, composition, and the art of connection from his father. After graduating from York College, he took over the family business and has since made it his own, blending a documentary-style approach with an eye for detail and emotion.

Based in Pennsylvania, J.D. and his wife, Jen, share a love of travel, great food, and chasing the beauty of the world—especially behind the camera. Whether exploring waterfalls across the state or discovering new places abroad, J.D. rarely travels without a camera in hand.

We serve clients across all of Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland, taking on a limited number of commissions each year to provide an elevated, personalized experience. J.D. also works a full-time career outside of photography, which allows him to keep photography rooted in passion—not pressure. That freedom fuels a genuine, creative approach with every session.
